Do you ever feel like praying but don’t really know what to say? How does one address G-d?

There are endless Jewish prayers that have been written by holy and great scholars, all for the purpose of connecting with G-d and formulating our heartfelt thoughts and emotions into words, which Jews, all around the globe and for generations, can use to beseech to the Almighty.

However, you don’t need to stick  to these prayers alone. G-d loves to hear our personal words too, and they can be as simple as, “Hi, G-d. I know you exist and I could do with some extra money. Could you give me some please?”

When you pray to G-d, you are doing four things:

  1. You recognize G-d’s existence
  2. You recognize that He does everything
  3. You become more humble, realizing that you aren’t in control
  4. You strengthen your relationship with G-d
