A 4th generation Tannah, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai was the most outstanding student of Rabbi Akiva.
He was nominated to be a rabbi by Rabbi Yehuda, the son of Babbah. Wrote the book of the “Zohar”. Tens of thousands of people are visiting and praying at his tomb on the 18th of Iyar, during Lag B’Omer.
