Rabbi Iba Sabbah was an Amora from the second generation of Amoraim (the sages of the Gemara) and is mentioned only in the holy scripts of the Zohar.
It was told that Rabbi Iba Sabbah used to dress like a poor man and start a conversation with the Torah scholars in which he would reveal to them great Torah secrets. Rabbi Ibba Sabbah’s power was so great, it is said that once he merely looked at a man and the man turned into a pile of
bones.
Rabbi Iba Sabbah is buried in Meron.
