Rabbi Yitzchak Nafcha was a famous Amorah who lived during the second and third generation of Amoraim (the sages of the
Gemarah).

Rabbi Yitzchak was born in Israel and later on moved to Babylon where he learned with other Gemarah sages.

Rabbi Yitschak Nafcha was famous for his great knowledge of Agadata (educational stories). He used to cheer up the people of his generation, who suffered great poverty, with the teachings of Agadata. Still, he used to complain about the fact that his generation neglected the teachings of Halachic ruling in exchange to extensive studies of Agadata.

Rabbi Yitschak Nafcha is buried in Meron.
